How to Wash Synthetic Braided Wig Without Wig Shampoo? - FANCIVIVI Braided Wigs

Wigs are a convenient way to change your hairstyle without to a permanent change. Whether you wear wigs for fashion or for personal reasons, it's important to keep them clean to maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan. A good synthetic braided wig cost much.

But you may feel frustrated when your synthetic braided wig needs a wash and you don't have any wig shampoo on hand. Wig shampoo is specifically designed to clean synthetic or human hair wigs without damaging the hair. But don't worry, there are still ways to clean your wig without it! Here are some simple steps you can follow to make your briad wig looking fresh and clean in no time, whether it's a knotless twist or any other braided style.

Brush out any tangles: Before washing your braided wigs, it's important to remove the tangles or knots attached on your wigs. Use a wig brush or a wide-tooth comb to gently detangle your braided wig, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. Avoid pulling or tugging on the hair while this can cause damage. For knotless braids, be even more gentle when detangling as there are no knots to hold the braids together.

Prepare the Wash:Fill a basin with cold water and add a small amount of gentle shampoo or mild liquid soap. Swirl the water with your hand to create suds. The soap or shampoo helps to break down any dirt or oils that have accumulated on the wig. When caring for wigs for black women, be sure to use products specifically formulated for black hair textures. The sudsy water will cleanse the fibers without stripping the wig of its natural oils.

Soak your braided wig: Let the braided wig soak for 5-10 minutes to allow the suds to break down any dirt and oils in the wig.

Rinse the braided wig: After the wig has soaked, it's time to rinse it thoroughly with gentle water until all the suds are gone. Avoid to use hot water, as this can damage the fibers of the braided wig.

Rinse the braided wig until the water runs clear and there is no more soap or shampoo left.

Squeeze Out Excess Water: Gently squeeze out the excess water from your wig, being careful not to twist or wring it. Squeezing the water out helps to speed up the drying of your wig. But don't use a hair dryer on your wig, as the heat can damage the synthetic fibers.

Dry the Wig: Once you've removed as much water as possible from the box braided wig, lay it flat on a clean towel and blot it gently with another dry towel and let it dry naturally to remove any remaining water. Allow the wig to air dry completely before brushing or styling it. Remember to avoid using heat styling tools on your synthetic braided wig, because this can cause the fibers to melt or become damaged.
